About Us
TargeTronics, LLC was founded by Dr. Jiri Perutka in spring 2012. Our objective is to promote TargeTron technology and make it available to academia and other non-profit research institutions for an affordable price.
Dr. Perutka has more than 10 years of experience in TargeTron design and engineering. During his postdoctoral training under the direction of Professor Alan Lambowitz at the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Section of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, University of Texas at Austin, he published his first computer algorithm for the LtrB group II intron (TargeTron) design. His algorithm for the EcI5 TargeTron design was published several years later.
While working with Professor Andrew Ellington at the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Center for Systems and Synthetic Biology, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Perutka further improved TargeTron design and delivery. Results of his work will be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
TargeTronics will continue collaborating with Professors Lambowitz and Ellington to maintain the quality and integrity of its scientific research.
